WhitePages Pro Lead Verify allows you to determine whether or not lead information you have received corresponds to a real person that can be contacted. This integration can also append demographic information about a lead and validates the following contact points in real time:

  • Name
  • Phone number (validity, carrier, line type)
  • Email address (validity)
  • Postal address (mail deliverability, residence type)
  • IP address (indicates proxy)

The Lead Verify response includes two primary data points which are used for lead verification:

  • Validity Check
  • Contact Score

Validity Check

Whitepages Pro performs a validity check to determine the validity of the contact point (phone, email, postal address, IP Address) in question. WhitePages uses proprietary data, realtime lookups to phone carriers, USPS lookups, etc., to determine if the contact point is valid.

Contact Scores

Lead Verify contact scores are used to determine if an individual can be contacted at a specific contact point (phone, email, physical address). Contact scores range in numeric value from 1 (highest likelyhood of contact) to 4 (lowest likelihood of contact) and take into consideration both the validity of the contact point and whether or not the name submitted matches the name Whitepages Pro has associated with that contact point.

Phone Contact Scores

Phone contact scores take into account phone to name match, is connected, and phone validity.  Phone contact scores are defined as follows:

  • 1 : Whitepages Pro has determined that this phone number is valid and that the named individual matches the name Whitepages Pro has associated with this phone number; all signals look great for contacting this person.
  • 2 : The phone number is valid, however Whitepages Pro could not verify the name associated with this phone number.
  • 3 : The phone number is valid, however Whitepages found a different name associated with this phone number.
  • 4:  This phone number is invalid; the individual cannot be contacted at this phone number.

Address Contact Scores

Address contact scores take into account address to name match, is active (i.e. is accepting mail) and address validity. Address contact scores are defined as follows:

  • 1 : Whitepages Pro has determined that this postal address is valid and that the named individual matches the name Whitepages Pro has associated with this postal address; all signals look great for contacting this person.
  • 2 : The address is valid, however Whitepages Pro could not verify the name associated with this address.
  • 3 : The address is valid, however Whitepages Pro found a different name associated with this address.
  • 4 : This address is invalid; the individual cannot be contacted at this postal address.

Email Contact Scores

Email contact scores take into account email to name match, if an email is disposable or autogenerated, and email validity.  Email contact scores are defined as follows:

  • 1 : Whitepages Pro has determined that this email is valid and that the named individual matches the name Whitepages Pro has associated with this address; all signals look great for contacting this person..
  • 2 : The email is valid, however Whitepages Pro could not verify the name associated with this address.
  • 3 : The email is valid, however Whitepages Pro found a different name associated with this address.
  • 4 : This email is invalid; the individual cannot be contacted at this email.

Filtering on the Lead Verify Outcome

By default, the Lead Verify step will fail if ALL of the contact points queried for a particular individual returned a contact score equal to 4 OR the IP address from which the lead was submitted is flagged as a known proxy. If you want to modify the default behavior of this integration, or make decisions on alternate data points, here are some best practices for creating filters after the integration in your lead flow.

Filtering on Default Behavior

You can set up a filter to fail the lead if the integration fails.  In this example, Whitepages Pro Lead Verify Outcome is equal to failure:

Filtering on Contact Scores

You may decide that you want to reject any lead with a Phone Contact Score of 3 or greater. You would add a filter step to your flow with the following specifications:

In this example, leads with a Phone Contact Score of 3 or 4 will fail. Leads with Email or Address Contact Scores 1-4 will still pass.

You can create more complex filters as well. In the following example, we reject only when Email Contact Score is equal to 4, Address Contact Score is equal to 4, and Phone Contact Score is greater than or equal to 3

Filtering on Data Points

You may decide that you want to reject any lead that does not return a match for Address To Name. You would add a filter step to your flow with the following specifications:

Other examples: phone line type, phone is prepaid, email is disposable, email is auto-generated, phone is on DNC list
