Install TrustedForm Certify

Step 4. Distribute TrustedForm Certificates

  • Goal: Allow your buyers to use TrustedForm Certificates.
  • Context:
Lead buyers use TrustedForm Certifcates to store records of lead generation events, audit lead generation practices and optimize their purchases. As a seller they will ask you to provide a TrustedForm Certificate URL to power all of these operations.

Instructions:

  1. After installing TrustedForm Certify a certificate URL is appended to the form data submitted by the lead.
  2. Send the certificate URL to your buyers along with the form data (e.g. name, email, phone)

Expected Result:
All certificates for your leads are retained and made accessible to you beyond their usual 90 day expiration date.JSON response highlighting key fields such as outcome, certificate details, and timestamps.

Step 5. Retain TrustedForm Certificates

  • Goal: Store TrustedForm Certificates so you can access them for the entire period during which legal action may still be brought after a lead is created.
  • Context:
Standard TrustedForm certificates are only available for 90 days unless they are actively retained. To ensure you have long-term access to your proof of consent, especially for compliance and litigation protection, you should retain your certificates.

  2. Scroll down to the “Auto Retain Confirmed Domain” section at the bottom of the page.
  3. Switch the toggle to “Enabled” for all of your domains to retain certificates for all of your leads.

  5. If using the Certify Mobile SDK, you will have to set up a process to Retain certificates using the Certificate API.

Expected Result:
All certificates for your leads are retained and made accessible to you beyond their usual 90 day expiration date.JSON response highlighting key fields such as outcome, certificate details, and timestamps.

Validate Your Setup

To validate your complete integration:

  • Generate a test lead using your lead generation forms
  • Retrieve the TrustedForm Certificate URL from your system of record
  • Wait ~15 mins and visit the certificate URL in a browser to ensure you can view it and are not prompted to retain it.
  • View the session replay and confirm that it matches the actual user experience you witnessed while submitting the test lead.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Root Cause Description Quick Fix
Missing certificate URL on page TrustedForm Certify script misconfigured, network issue or blocked privacy/security technologies The certificate is not created when the script fails to load, network problems prevent data from being sent, it is intentionally blocked or the site visitor has disabled javascript. Verify proper inclusion of the TrustedForm Certify script.
Certificate not being extended past default retention Form submit event not detected Certificates remain in the default 3‑day window if the TrustedForm script fails to capture a “submitted form” event. Ensure the web form uses a standard
tag with a visible submit button and that TrustedForm consent tags are implemented; allow at least 15 minutes for the auto‑extension process.
Incorrect Consent Language Detected on certificate Missing or improperly implemented consent tags If the consent tags are not correctly placed, the Consent Language Detected section may show unexpected or missing text. Implement the recommended TrustedForm consent tags per documentation and verify that the expected consent disclosure is visible during the session replay.
Portions of the session replay are missing Recording is started later or stopped early The start and stop of recording can be adjusted by the design of the website and tools provided as part of the Web SDK. Missing portions are usually a result of that. Ensure the Certify script is loaded before the user interacts with the form and is not stopped/removed until the end of the lead event

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why is my TrustedForm certificate not appearing after form submission?**

Ensure that the TrustedForm Certify script is correctly embedded on your page, that the form uses a standard HTML

heck that the TrustedForm Certify script detected a proper form submit event by reviewing the Event Log. Confirm the form uses a standard submission method and that consent tags are implemented; allow at least 15 minutes for the auto‑extension to update the retention period.

Verify that your webpage includes the appropriate TrustedForm consent tags and that the expected consent disclosure is being displayed during the user session. If machine learning is used to capture consent text, ensure it is calibrated with your approved language requirements.

Which technologies are not supported by TrustedForm Certify?**

TrustedForm Certify is optimized for standard HTML web forms. It may not work as expected on AMP pages, certain proprietary mobile apps, or dynamic form builders that do not trigger a standard form submit event.
