Generate a CSV (Comma Separate Value) formatted file of your lead data. Typically this is a spreadsheet saved with a .csv extension.

If you have a system generating the CSV, be sure the generated file conforms to CSV best standards. For example, if the lead data contains commas or carriage returns, that data must be enclosed in quotes.

Where to find the Import Leads Wizard

Sources: The import Leads button is located on your Submission Docs document.

Users: Can access the lead import wizard from Leads View by clicking the import button in the top right of the page. Users will be prompted to select a flow and source when accessing the import wizard.

Performing an Import

Select Import Leads which will open a new tab, then select if your import will contain both Flow ID & Source ID or if you want to select a single flow and source to upload your CSV file to. If you are importing a CSV for multiple sources & flows select My Import contains both Flow ID and Source ID. When selecting this option, you must include a column for Flow ID (mapped as flow_id) and a column for Source ID (mapped as source_id). If you are importing leads for a single Flow & Source then select I want to select a Flow and Source ID and choose your desired Flow & Source. Once you have made your selection click Next.

Once you have uploaded your CSV you will be prompted to review the field mappings. The Field Mapping screen will default to use the first row of your file as the column headers and LeadConduit flow fields will be displayed in the second row of the import screen.

The import screen will attempt to match existing flow fields with column headers.

If your CSV doesn’t have column headers, be sure to uncheck CSV Column Header.

In some cases, you will need to manually map a field. Use the dropdowns to match column headers to flow fields.

Click Next to enter the Validate Lead Data screen and watch the progress bar as your lead data is validated.

  • This validation is checking the data in the file against the acceptance criteria of the flow
  • Should any of your lead data not meet acceptance criteria, you will receive a complete report of which rows have missing or unacceptable data
  • At this time you can choose to complete the import or you can adjust your data and begin the process again

When the status bar shows that the leads are done validating, click the Import Leads button in the bottom right corner to complete the import.

NOTE: Do not close this page/tab while the import is in progress

Review the Summary of Lead Import. This screen will show you which specific leads resulted in a failure in the flow and will include a failure reason.

These failures reasons are also available in a real time report available to all lead sources upon request.
