LeadConduit now allows a user to require Basic Authentication for a source to submit leads. This acts as an additional layer of security that confirms the source sending the lead is the intended party that sends the user leads. Leads sent without proper authentication from a source with authentication required will receive a “Unauthorized source” response and their submissions will not be seen in the LeadConduit account. These unauthenticated submissions will also not incur a transaction fee.
In order to activate this feature, you will need to go to the Sources tab in the desired flow and select Actions. Here you will see an option for Source Authentication. Please note that this is only available for Account Sources; Custom Sources and sources through certain integrations do not have this feature available. Make sure you save your flow once you have added Source Authentication.
Once you have added Source Authentication, your partners submission docs will be updated with instructions on how to submit their leads with proper authentication. Your partner will need to use their own accounts API key to submit their leads now. This article will help them find their API key. Do not share your account API key with any of your partners.
