How the Account Sources Feature Works?

Account sources represent a specialized type of source configuration in LeadConduit. They allow buyers to formally invite lead sellers to deliver leads into their flows. Once a seller accepts the invitation, their leads are funneled through the configured account source, where they are mapped, validated, and processed. The process includes Source Authentication to verify the seller’s identity and Email Alerts for Submission Docs that notify sellers instantly when any critical configuration changes occur—such as updates in Acceptance Criteria, Ping Limits, or Real‑time Bidding settings—thereby ensuring that all parties remain aligned and compliant.

Step‑by‑Step Instructions

Expected Result: The seller appears as an Account source in your Sources step and is linked to your flow, making their lead submissions ready for processing.

  5. Configure Source Authentication (optional):
Open the newly created Account source’s settings. Enable Source Authentication by toggling the option on and following the on-screen instructions to verify the seller’s identity.

Expected Result: A secure connection is established so that only authenticated seller leads are processed.

The inbound field mapping ensures that varying source field names (e.g., fname, first_name, firstname) are normalized to LeadConduit’s standard fields, and then processed through your flow steps for acceptance and delivery.

Validation & Monitoring (optional)

  • Test the Setup: Submit a test lead from the newly connected seller or ask the seller to submit a test. Verify that the lead appears under your flow events and that the seller receives an email alert when you simulate a change (e.g., updating Acceptance Criteria).

  • Where to Monitor?: Review the Events tab in LeadConduit to trace the complete processing path

Best Practices

  • Confirm Seller Details Upfront: Always validate the seller’s company name, contact information, and technical setup before sending out an invitation.
  • Leverage Standard Field Mapping: Use LeadConduit’s standard fields to map incoming seller lead data for consistent validation and processing across flows.
  • Use Source Authentication: Enable and periodically verify Source Authentication to ensure secure lead submissions from your sellers.
  • Utilize Email Alerts Effectively: Ensure that all users with critical management permissions are set to receive Email Alerts, so they are immediately aware of any updates to the Submission Docs.
  • Test with Real Data: Routinely use test submissions to verify that filters, acceptance criteria, and enhancement steps work as expected before going live with high-volume campaigns.

Troubleshooting

Symptom / Error Likely Cause Resolution
Seller invitation not received Incorrect email address or lack of Manage Users/Manage Billing permissions Verify seller contact details and user permissions in your ActiveProspect account
Seller lead not appearing in the flow Seller has not accepted the invitation or mapping misconfiguration Confirm seller acceptance via email; check inbound field mapping settings and ensure the source is properly configured
No Email Alert received after updating Submission Docs Email Alerts misconfigured; improper permissions for notification recipients Verify that Email Alerts are enabled in the Account source settings and that all required users have Manage Users and Manage Billing permissions
Source Authentication fails to verify the seller Incorrect authentication details or configuration error Revisit the Source Authentication setup, confirm the seller’s details, and retry the authentication process
Multiple Email Alerts sent for a single update Consecutive edits triggering separate notifications before consolidation Remember that alerts are dispatched after a 10‑minute delay following the last configuration change; review if changes are being batched

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What exactly is an Account source?

An Account source in LeadConduit is a specialized configuration that connects a lead seller to a buyer’s flow, ensuring that leads are delivered securely and consistently while enabling real-time notifications when submission settings change.

Why are Account sources important?

They formalize the lead delivery process, maintain data quality and security through Source Authentication, and keep both parties updated in real time via Email Alerts, ultimately ensuring high‑quality lead transmission.

How do I invite a seller to deliver leads to me?

Navigate to the Sources step in your ActiveProspect flow or the Sources page, add a new Account source using the appropriate invitation option, fill in the seller details, and send the invitation. Once accepted, the seller is added to your flow with a free LeadConduit for Partners subscription if needed.

How do I receive leads from my sellers?

After a seller accepts your invitation and becomes connected as an Account source, the leads they send you using the automatically shared Submission Docs are delivered to your flow; inbound field mapping standardizes the data, and subsequent flow steps process these leads for acceptance and delivery.

What is Source Authentication?

Source Authentication is a security feature that verifies the identity and integrity of an Account source, ensuring that only authorized and authenticated lead data is processed in your flow.

What are Email Alerts for Submission Docs?

These alerts automatically notify designated account users via email whenever a partner updates critical flow settings—such as enabling/disabling Source Authentication, modifying Acceptance Criteria, or adjusting Ping Limits—providing immediate visibility and reducing the risk of lead submission disruptions.

Are there any requirements for inviting my Sellers as a lead Buyer?

The only requirement for a lead Buyer is an ActiveProspect account with a LeadConduit Base or Pro subscription.

What happens if the Seller doesn’t have an ActiveProspect account?

If the Seller doesn’t have an ActiveProspect account, they can create one for free from your invitation, which will give them access to a free LeadConduit for Partners subscription.

What happens if the Seller has an ActiveProspect account but doesn’t have access to LeadConduit?

It might happen that the Seller already has an ActiveProspect account that only has access to TrustedForm; when they accept your invitation with that account, they will be automatically assigned a free LeadConduit for Partners subscription.

This LeadConduit subscription will allow them to easily access the Submission Docs for any current or future Flow, in which you might include them as an Account Source.

What happens if the Seller already has an ActiveProspect account with access to LeadConduit?

If the Seller accepts the invitation with an account that previously had access to LeadConduit, your Flow’s Submission Docs will be automatically assigned to their account.

Does this feature change how I assign and use Source integrations in my Flows?

No, adding a Source representing a specific integration, such as Facebook, remains the same.

Can I assign a Source Name to a Seller (and will it affect my flow rules)?

Yes. You can optionally set a Source Name for a seller’s Account Source

You have a few options for setting a Source Name:

  1. while sending the invite, you can enter the Source Name in the designated field.:

    invite seller partner modal

  2. You can also edit the source later from the Flow Editor (Sources step):

assign a source name from the flow editor

  3. Alternatively, you can set the Source Name directly from the Sources page:

assign a source name from the sources page

If you do not assign a Source Name, LeadConduit will display either the seller’s company name or the email address of the pending invite until it is accepted.

Please note that changing the Source Name will not affect any rules that reference the Account Source, and the Source Name is internal to your account; it will not be shared with your partner.
