Feature Snapshot

Summary:
A SuppressionList Check is the process of verifying whether specific lead data—such as an email address, phone number, or other unique identifier—is present on your suppression list, ensuring that leads flagged for opt-outs or already purchased aren’t processed.

Key Benefits:

  • Prevents accidental outreach to DNC or non-compliant leads.
  • Improves data hygiene and campaign effectiveness by filtering out ineligible contacts.
  • Save marketing spend by rejecting duplicate leads.

Typical Use Cases:

  • Screening new leads to make sure they aren’t on your DNC list before adding them to active marketing campaigns.
  • Declining repeats of leads that you have already purchased.

How the SuppressionList Check works

A SuppressionList Check involves comparing incoming lead data (e.g., an email address or phone number) against a maintained suppression list. The system checks a single column of data to determine if the data is already present, returns a status indicating suppression, and enables users to add new entries if necessary.

Step‑by‑Step Instructions

  1. Create a new list to store the lead data (such as an email address or phone number) that you want to check.
  2. Add new entries by uploading a csv file with no header and one column if you have already have values that you would like to be suppressed.
  3. If you would like to prevent duplicate leads, add the SuppressionList - Is Unique Add-On to your LeadConduit flow or use SuppressionList - Query List and SuppressionList - Add Item at the end of your flow.
  4. If you would like to reject leads on an existing do not contact list, add the SuppressionList - Query List Add-On to your LeadConduit flow
  5. Add/delete entries that are triggered outside of your lead intake process using a different flow with the SuppressionList - Add/Delete Item Add-On.

Expected Result:
Duplicate and/or DNC leads are rejected and the lists that track them are updated in real time.

Suppression List Result

Validation & Monitoring (optional)

  • Test the Setup: Run tests of yoru flow using both a known suppressed lead and a non-suppressed lead to verify that the system accurately distinguishes between the two scenarios.
  • Where to Monitor?: Check your flow dashboard, events and reporting to see how many leads are being suppressed and dig into why to make sure it aligns with your expectations.

Best Practices

  • Monitor the outcome of leads checked again your SuppressionLists.
  • Regularly update and audit your suppression list to ensure its accuracy.
  • Periodically use test data to confirm that suppression list queries produce reliable results.

Troubleshooting

Symptom / Error Likely Cause Resolution
“Lead data not found” during query The lead may not have been added to the suppression list or mistyped. Double-check the lead data for spelling and formatting errors. If the lead should be suppressed, add it to the suppression list and re-run the query.
“Unexpected query result” Data inconsistency or an outdated suppression list may be the cause. Refresh the suppression list data, re-run the query, and review audit logs to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
