After uploading a new CSV file to Suppressionlist, you will receive a confirmation message by email. In some cases you’ll see that double the total records you were expecting have been submitted, and approximately half are not accepted.
Here’s an example of such an email:
You’ll want to check the number of records that were accepted in order to determine that your entries have been added to the SuppressionList.
The approximately doubled count reflected as “3332 total records were submitted,” as above, is almost always a result of a Windows application, used in file preparation, having inserted newlines plus line feed characters on each line; SuppressionList interprets each line in your input file as two lines, one of which is interpreted as blank, and is “rejected because of bad formatting”. Thus if you’re comfortable with the number of records that were accepted, you can ignore the rejected records.
