Guide Overview

Summary:
Add an existing source or create a new one from the flow editor so your flow can receive leads from the right origin.

Learning Objectives:

  • Open the Add source menu from a flow in edit mode.
  • Understand the four source types (Default, Standard, Account, Custom).
  • Add an existing source, invite a Seller partner, or create a new custom source from the menu.
  • Create a new web form source using the LeadConduit Webform integration and a web form URL.

Quick Start Workflow

  1. Open your flow in edit mode.
  2. Click Add to Flow → Sources.
  3. Choose an existing source/integration (or search for it).
  4. If needed, create a new custom source or configure a web form source.
  5. Confirm the source is added to your flow.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1. Open the Add source menu

  • Goal: Get to the list of existing sources and integrations so you can add one to your flow.
  • Context: Sources are added from the flow editor while the flow is in edit mode.

Instructions:

  1. In your flow’s edit mode, click Add to Flow (upper right).
  2. Select Sources.
  3. In the Add source menu, review the list of existing sources and integrations.

Expected Result: The Add source menu opens and shows a list of existing sources and integrations.

Step 2. Choose the right source type

  • Goal: Pick the correct kind of source for your flow (or confirm what you’re looking at).
  • Context: The platform supports four types of sources.

Instructions:

  1. Identify which type you need:

    1. Default – Each flow has a default source labeled with your account name.
    2. Standard – Lead vendors familiar with the ActiveProspect platform.
    3. Account – LeadConduit account holders who opted to be listed or are connected with you.
    4. Custom – Lead sources you define that are specific to your account, for example:
      • Your web forms
      • Twilio numbers routed through LeadConduit
      • Vendors unfamiliar with LeadConduit
      • Other non-standard use cases
  2. Use the Add source menu to do any of the following:

    • Search for or scroll through the list of existing sources and integrations.
    • Invite your Seller partner to connect.
    • Create a new custom source, specific to your account.

Expected Result: You know whether you should select an existing source/integration or create a new custom source.

Step 3. Create a new custom source (if needed)

  • Goal: Add a source that doesn’t exist in the standard source library.
  • Context: Creating a custom source is recommended only when the source does not exist in the standard source library.

Instructions:

  1. In the Add source menu, choose to create a new custom source.
  2. When creating the new custom source, select the type of integration it will use by default in this flow.
  3. If you later need to change the custom source’s integration type:
    1. Edit the source in the sources library to make additional integrations available.
    2. Re-select which of those integrations will apply in your flow.

Expected Result: A new custom source is created and is configured with a default integration type for the flow.

Step 4. Add a new web form source (LeadConduit Webform integration)

  • Goal: Automatically configure a source from an existing web form by having LeadConduit read the web page.
  • Context: This flow works when you know the URL of the web form’s page.

Instructions:

  1. Check the sources list to confirm you haven’t already used that web form as a source in a different flow (if it exists already, you don’t need to create it again).
  2. Select the LeadConduit Webform integration and click it.
  3. Enter the web form page’s URL into the prompt (“Enter the URL of your web form so we can customize your setup”) and follow the prompts.
  4. Keep in mind: this option works best with simple HTML forms; results are unpredictable with forms created/managed by form-generating applications or forms submitted via JavaScript.

Expected Result: LeadConduit attempts to automatically configure the source by reading your web form’s page.

Validate Your Setup

  • Confirm the source was added from the flow editor via Add to Flow → Sources, and that it now appears as part of your flow configuration.
  • If you created a web form source, verify you used the correct web page URL and completed the prompts.
  • If you were adding a web form source, confirm you didn’t duplicate an existing web form source that was already used in a different flow.

Troubleshooting

Symptom / Error Message Likely Cause Resolution
You can’t find the source you want in the Add source menu. The source may not exist in the standard source library. Create a new custom source (recommended only if it doesn’t exist in the standard source library).
You’re about to create a new web form source, but suspect it already exists. The same web form may have already been added as a source in another flow. Check the sources list first; if one already exists, don’t create a duplicate.
Web form auto-configuration doesn’t behave as expected. The form may be generated/managed by a form-building app or submitted via JavaScript, which can produce unpredictable results. Use this option with simple HTML forms; for other form types, results may be unpredictable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the different source types?

There are four: Default, Standard, Account, and Custom.

When should I create a custom source?

Only if your source does not exist in the standard source library.

Can I change a custom source’s integration type later?

Yes. Edit the source in the sources library to make additional integrations available, then re-select which integrations apply in your flow.

How does the web form source setup work?

If you know the URL of the web form’s page, LeadConduit can try to automatically configure the source by reading the web page itself.
