What is a good Colossus SolarScore, and how do Tiers work?

Colossus’s SolarScore scores range from 0 to 100, with 100 being the best score possible. It then places that score in 4 tiers, allowing the customer to act on it. Tiers 1 and 2 are the highest scores, and 4 is the worst.

The Colossus team is confident that Tier 4 addresses are not worth pursuing and that Tiers 1 and 2 should be prioritized in any lead workflows. However, this is ultimately left up to you to decide.

A home with a SolarScore score in Tiers 1 and 2 is considered to have a high likelihood of solar adoption, meaning that adding solar panels will generate energy offset and savings that will benefit the consumer. The more significant the benefit to the consumer, the more likely they are to purchase. Even if a home’s SolarScore score is in Tier 4, it may still benefit from a solar panel system, albeit with lower energy output.

In case you want to filter leads based on SolarScore, you should follow the following sample distribution of scored leads measured on a cohort basis:

Tier SolarScore
4 0 - 50
3 55 - 75
2 80 - 90
1 95 - 100

Note that this will vary by customer and source and that this metric historically takes 30 - 45 days to mature.
